Pusat Hemodialisis Mawar
Overview
Established in 1997, Pusat Hemodialisis Mawar (PHM) is an independent, non-profit making and non-government organization (NGO), which caters to the welfare of Malaysian kidney-failure patients.

It was set up by the founder YB.Senator Dato' Dr. Yeow Chai Thiam. PHM is one of the Largest Charitable Haemodialysis Centre in Malaysia.

We raise funds for the disadvantaged and less fortunate kidney-failure patients and we provide a high standard of dialysis treatment to prolong their lives. Equipped with state-of-the-art dialysis machines, high flux bio-compatible membrane and coupled with an advanced water treatment system - Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water System.

Thanks to the support of countless compassionate individuals, we are able to subsidise the treatment cost of our dialysis patients. Today, our patients just have to pay a nominal RM60 per session.

Today, after 14 years of operations, PHM has achieved a premier-class of subsidised dialysis treatment and rehabilitative programme. A full spectrum of holistic care is extended to more than 664 kidney patients in all the eleven centres in Seremban (Head Office), Lukut, Bahau, Rantau, Mantin (Negeri Sembilan), Sepang, Seri Kembangan (Selangor), Gemas Bharu, Yong Peng (Johor), Seputeh (Wilayah Persekutuan) and Kuala Pilah (Negeri Sembilan).

Dialysis Unit
With the support of the Malaysian public, Pusat Hemodialisis Mawar (PHM) has been in the forefront fighting against kidney disease and providing salvation for those who once had lost their hopes to live.

Lately, PHM has seen an accelerated growth in the number of patients applying for treatment. Dialysis is extremely costly to PHM which is RM20,000 per patient.

We need more than RM70 million to support our patients for the next 10 years.

To combat this expensive trend, PHM now seeks a more prudent and effective answer by shifting its emphasis to prevention yearly to support a single patient on dialysis.

Now, we have nearly 664 patients and every year, there are large numbers of new patients applying for placements in our programme.

It is highly unlikely that we will ever have enough funds to sustain our programme.

In our awareness programme, we have been visiting and been visited by major schools, colleges, universities, corporate, government agencies and private organizations and associations on educational prevention programmes with the aim to reduce the risks of the development of kidney failures.
